Guest : Students from the Suzuki studios of John Flameling, Sasha Wittenhannah and Lih Foo Ring

Performing ensemble pieces, solos and group playing
Please note that the performance will be at the beginning of the meeting 7.30pm.

About Iliya:

Iliya Kristoff was born in 1971 in Plovdiv – the second largest city in Bulgaria. He started playing guitar at the age of six. By age nine he was winning national classical guitar competitions. He took first award in Bulgaria’s national biannual guitar contest three years in a row from 1981 to 1985. Iliya graduated from the High School of Music in Plovdiv in 1990 and in 1994 he obtained his Masters degree in Music Pedagogy from Bulgaria’s Academy of Music and Dance, Plovdiv. Iliya has ten awards from Bulgarian national classical guitar competitions and two awards from international classical guitar competitions. Iliya and his wife Stefka have been living in Tauranga, New Zealand since 2002. They became New Zealand citizens in 2006.
