I began playing piano with Dora Harkness in Northland when I was 7 years old, and after learning it for a year and watching Dora’s guitar students, I became inspired to also learn the guitar. For about 5 years, I learned both instruments simultaneously until I moved to Auckland and had to give up on piano due to the increasing demands of my studies. I am presently having classical guitar lessons with Sasha Witten-Hannah in West Auckland.
I recently came first in the youth division’s New Zealand Classical Guitar Competition, winning a handmade classical guitar made by Owen Moriarty. (I will be playing this guitar at the guitar society).
The Programme will include Bach, Tarrega, Dyans , Sanz and Pernambuco pieces.
